LEIPA ultraLux

A NEW QUALITY CONCEPT IN MAGAZINE PAPER

LEIPA is showing the way, world-wide, in producing waste paper based LWC that concedes nothing to primary fibre products in terms of relevant aspects of quality. PM 4 is an online process that includes coating and calendering at machine speeds over 1,600 m/min. Production start was in August 2004.

The waste paper based production concept has been a brilliant success from the very start and is further validated by our customers throughout the world. To enable us to make the necessary fine-tuning wherever required we have made permanent success factor analysis part of our quality control culture. This approach ensures constant fibre quality and continuous improvement of production parameters.

You would look in vain all over the world for coated magazine papers at this technical level with comparable recycled fibre content. This is because ours are the first of their kind created through a symbiosis of leading technology stock preparation and an innovative, full size, paper machine. LEIPA ultraMag is available in gloss and semigloss finishes from 51 to 65 g/m² and LEIPA ultraMag Plus gloss from 57 to 70 g/m², LEIPA ultraLux in semigloss and silk in grammages 60 to 90 g/m².

Prozess Standard Offsetdruck (PSO) describes the industrial and standardised production of printed matters. It was created by the German associations of the print- and media industries in cooperation with the research institutes FOGRA and UGRA. It`s based on the ISO-Norm
ISO 12647-2 and thus commonly valide.
Due to PSO the production starting from data input up to the ready printed matter quality might be controlled. There are used special tools for monitoring and controlling production-processes. These are spectral and densitometric devices for measuring including suitable control strips. PSO also offers nominal values and tolerances representing wise and possible steps in each part of the process.

Papers were categorized in different types. As we want to support the printers to adapt their process onto our papers we present necessary values like shade (according to L a b) and gloss of our papers to create the ICC-Profile.
ICC- (= International Color Consortium – synonym for: colorprofile) Profile is a normed set of data describing the gammut of a color in- or output device. It`s the target of a consequently used color-management to reproduce the motif almost as the original.
